Community Relief and Development Foundation –CRDF, currently operates in Southern and Western Provinces of Zambia in hard-to reach areas that are disadvantaged and isolated with non- development actors apart from the Government of Zambia.
CRDF is working in a total of 25 Districts of Zambia.

Health

Promoting overall community health by providing improved, sustainable access to affordable, quality health services. Working with the Government and other local organisations to manage the well-being of the communities. we want to improve service delivery and access to care. Our work is aligned with UN SDG 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing.

Water supply, sanitation and hygiene- (WASH)

Community Relief and Development Foundation (CRDF) invests in communities to improve equal access to safely managed water and sanitation services and maintain safe hygiene practices through infrastructure and community systems development complemented with community capacity building and support. This contributes directly to UN SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, but also positively impacts comfort and dignity, health, education, productivity, gender equality and security.giene

Environmental Conservation

Engaging communities in sustainable environmental conservation to mitigate negative effects of climate change. Enhancing community resilience to effects of disasters through capacity building and support in partnership with government and other stakeholders by working. Promoting alternative sustainable livelihoods.
Promoting and advocating for nature- based solutions to offset the many challenges arising from climate change.

Sustainable Agriculture and Food security

Improving production and harvests through capacity building in climate smart agricultural practices, value-addition/ processing, infrastructure development support, market access/linkages and support through inputs to women farmers. Food security and enriched nutrition intake for children and the most vulnerable community members, including distributions and training in health and nutrition.

Services

Education

Community Relief and Development Foundation (CRDF) Zambia seeks to improve access to quality education for children and young people so that they are equipped with the necessary skills needed for adulthood in line with UN SDG 4 – Quality Education. We support early-stage initiatives with innovative approaches that address early childhood development programmes and encourage transformation in education systems. We support educational opportunities for girls and advocate against early marriages. CRDF provides support to needy schools in the form of teaching aids and ICT.

Enterprise and Livelihoods

Community Relief and Development Foundation-CRDF Zambia facilitates sustainable employment creation and addressing inequality to support the women and youths, we support initiatives that improve economic opportunities for people living in poverty in rural and hard to reach areas. We invest in innovative market-driven solutions that increase income generation at household level, promote enterprise growth and job creation, build capacity and resilience, and have the potential to scale. Our theme for Enterprise and Livelihoods strategy is principally aligned with UN SDGs 2 and 8 – Zero Hunger and Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Gender and Governance

CRDF works with Government and other actors to provide opportunities for women participation in governance and leadership through capacity building, advocacy and human rights awareness and upholding. We promote justice, equity and equality. CRDF also encourages youths and empowers them to take up leadership roles in governance and development programs.
