CRDF embarked on a horticulture project for income generation for 100 households in 2014 with the sole aim of empowering vulnerable but viable households with the capacity to produce vegetables and supply to the market for income to meet other household needs.
Trainings in vegetable production, pest eradication and crop marketing where conducted and among those that emerged, Patrck Sikufa is a proud vegetable producer producing upto as much as 10000 heads of cabbages which he sells at the local market.
He has managed to procure a motorised water pump to boost production and employed 4 helpers in his garden. He plans to buy a van to help in delivery of his produce to the market.
He supports his 5 children in school and managed to buy 4 heads of cattle and 60 chickens which he is keeping in order to sell and raise extra income.
